Aro

Husband and wife duo Charles Looker (Te Rarawa, Ngaapuhi, Ngaati Te Ata Waiohua, Ngaati Mutunga) and Emily Looker (née Rice) formed Aro in 2017, after meeting while studying music at the University of Auckland.

They have released three EPs and four albums, and brought three tamariki into the world along the way. Their mahi is grounded in the timeless values of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga – looking after ourselves, each other, and our environment – and reflects their journey as modern-day troubadour artists, parents, and storytellers.
