Goblin Mix

Goblin Mix emerged from the same group of friends and the same Birkenhead practice room as The Exploding Budgies.

When the Budgies disbanded in 1985, their guitarist David Mitchell joined Phil Moore (guitar, vocals), Alf Danielson (bass) and Andrew Moon (drums) in an expanded (and hence considerably more noisy) Goblin Mix.

Trivia:

Mitchell's surreal, intricate artwork for the band's posters and sleeves was inspired by his teenage obsession with the work of the occultist Aleister Crowley. Mitchell's second-hand copies of occult books by Crowley and others were stamped with the name of so-called Galloping Gourmet Graham Kerr, the first modern celebrity chef.

David Mitchell became a central member of The 3Ds and The Ghost Club and is a talented artist/cartoonist residing in London.

Andrew Moon re-emerged in Celine and RST, a solo free noise project in the 1990s.
