Koizilla

After close to a decade, five EPs and three albums and performing to audiences from Dunedin’s Crown Hotel to Auckland’s Spark Arena, Dunedin psych-rock band Koizilla played their “final” show in November 2025.

“We started Koizilla in our early twenties and we’re all 30 now,” says singer, songwriter and guitarist Zac Nicholls. “Our tastes have changed. We don’t listen to as much surf/psych rock as we used to. After playing together for nearly nine years, we are ready for a break. It’s definitely not the last time we will play together as Koizilla though, just not for a good few years, at least. We are all friends still.”
