Stephen Bell-Booth

Here’s a quick quiz: who has a platinum album; was signed to Mushroom Records by Mike Chunn alongside DD Smash and the Dance Exponents; toured America as a duo with Barry ‘Eve Of Destruction’ McGuire; has two APRA Silver Scroll awards; won a Tūī award; ran his own record label; was personal friends with US gospel legend Andraé Crouch; performed for Queen Elizabeth II; is revered by fellow musicians and songwriters; and is regarded as a major inspiration in the New Zealand Christian music community?

Given his self-imposed 20-year exile from the music industry following the release of his fourth album in 1999 during which time his catalogue was unavailable in any format you could be forgiven for not immediately naming Stephen Bell-Booth.
