Paul McLaney

Singer, songwriter and musical multi-tasker Paul McLaney has been clear in his ambition and vision.I love artists who have a large body of work that once you discover, they become vast landscapes to explore,” he said in 2023. You might hear something from their mid-career, which is great because then you have two directions in the timeline to explore. I find those artistic trajectories fascinating. I’ve always wanted to achieve a body of work – that, to me, is the point.”

Since his debut solo album Pedestrian in 1997 McLaney has released more than 20 albums under his own name or that of his band project Gramsci; a digital-only series of electronica albums, EPs and singles as The Impending Adorations; the Celtic-influenced An Arrow Made of Air (with Oscar West on traditional British folk instruments); and a duet with pianist Raashi Malik, The Old Traditions in 2020.
