Sulata

aka Sulata Foa'i, Sulata Foai-Amiatu

Sulata Foa'i got her start in the music scene as a teenager when her cousin asked if she wanted to join her boyfriend’s band, Colony.

Sulata previously sang in groups and choirs throughout primary and intermediate school and was in sixth form at Auckland Girls Grammar when she joined the band. They were approached by Kane Massey of the Deepgrooves label at their first gig, who signed them for an EP, which came out in 1994.
